ARS earned the top spot, increasing revenue from $13 million in 2018 to $76 million in 2019.

ARS Named Top 100 Dayton Area Company

ARS has been added to The List of Dayton's Top 100 companies to work for in 2020. DBJ Reporter, Elizabeth Kyle stated, "Beavercreek-based Applied Research Solutions, a newcomer to this year's top 100 companies list, saw explosive growth this past year. The firm registered a 2018 revenue of $13 million, then skyrocketed to $76 million in 2019. That's a484% percent revenue boost in just one year." ARS has grown tremendously in the last 18 months.

 

With growth, comes many challenges and obstacles, but ARS has proven to handle with success. Number 42 on this list is and accomplishment, but ARS is excited to see what the future has in store.

 

Included in her article, Kyle quotes ARS management partners, Kevin Sullivan and Gary Wittlinger, "The challenges come and we haven't been immune to them, of course [...] But know the big picture is one that holds good things for those who overcome and rise up to meet obstacles."

ARS Awarded AFIT FATS Contract

BEAVERCREEK, OH - Applied Research Solutions (ARS), a rapidly growing small business headquartered in Dayton, OH, received Notice of Award for the GSA Faculty and Technical Support (FATS) Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) in support of the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH. Under the FATS Contract, ARS and our teammates Apogee, Centauri, and Solid State Scientific Corporation will provide Directed Energy Research, Program Management, Instruction and Course Design, Engineering Services, Cyber Operations Education and Training, and Financial and Budget Management services for AFIT research and academic programs. This single award BPA has an anticipated contract value and contract ceiling of $57M over a 5 year period of performance, with support expected to continue into November of 2024. ARS has supported AFIT Research Centers and the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs since the company was founded 8 years ago. “ARS is extremely excited to continue our long-standing support to AFIT through this GSA contract. The Centers for Directed Energy and Cyberspace Research are critical customers to ARS and our focus is to bring the best technical talent at strong value each and every day,” stated Gary Wittlinger, one of ARS’ Managing Partners. “It is great to continue with our winning partnership moving forward.” 

 

 

ARS Awarded NASIC MEGASTAR Contract

ARS received Notice of Award for the National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC) MEGASTAR Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) numbered ID05190006. After careful evaluation, the Government determined that the ARS Contractor Team Arrangement’s (CTA) quote was among the highest technically rated at a fair and reasonable price. ARS is the Prime lead for their General Services Administration (GSA) CTA team which included ManTech International and Altamira Technologies Corporation. The ordering period for MEGASTAR is October 1, 2019 through September 30, 2024 with five, one-year option periods to follow.

 

ARS leads a strong team of large and small business partners with tremendous technical acumen across DoD, Air Force, and Intelligence Community programs. The ARS CTA Team brings ability to execute across MEGASTAR’s nine mission support areas that include air, space, cyber, Open Source Intelligence (OSINT), Signals Intelligence (SIGINT), Human Intelligence (HUMINT), analysis, and research and development for the entire 10-year period of performance. This requires a commitment to sustained operations and excellence in the Dayton, OH region supporting Wright Patterson AFB critical mission areas.

 

 

ARS Awarded AFRL SLAKE Contract

BEAVERCREEK, OH - Applied Research Solutions (ARS), a rapidly growing small business headquartered in Dayton, OH, was awarded a 4 year, $45M full-and-open competitive contract to conduct research for Air Force Research Laboratory Sensors Directorate (AFRL/RY) for the Sensing, Learning, Autonomy, and Knowledge Engineering (SLAKE) program.

 

ARS leads a strong team of large and small business partners with tremendous technical acumen across DoD, Air Force, and Intelligence Community programs. Key research areas under SLAKE include Machine Learning (ML), Artificial Intelligence (AI), autonomous systems development, sensor product representations, sensor resource allocations, system architectures, and other mission support needs for AFRL. SLAKE will address the constraints of future contested operational environments, employing best practices in system and software development for the entire spectrum of needed research. SLAKE technology investments are now underway and very diverse across the AFRL portfolio needs. ARS will expand the talent base for AFRL with scientific and engineering specialties to address critical needs.

ARS Awarded AFLCMC/HN EPASS Task Order

BEAVERCREEK, OH - Applied Research Solutions (ARS), a highly successful and expanding small business headquartered in Dayton, OH, was awarded the $897M, 5-year task order contract FA8721-19-F-0005 as part of the Engineering and Professional Acquisition Support Services (EPASS) Program. As Prime Contractor, ARS will support of Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) Command, Control, Communications, Intelligence, and Networks (C3I&N) Directorate, also known as AFLCMC/HN.

ARS ’team of small business partners’ will deliver 95% of the effort, and they are complemented by one not for-profit and one large business partner with the needed knowledge, skills, and abilities to support the HN mission. The AFLCMC/HN Directorate is headquartered at Hanscom Air Force Base, MA, with additional activities at Wright Patterson AFB, OH; Langley AFB, VA; Offutt AFB, NE; Lackland AFB, TX; Gunter Annex, AL; Peterson AFB, CO; Barksdale AFB, LA; Pentagon, VA; Eglin AFB, FL; Tokyo, Japan; and Wahiawa, HI. C3I&N Directorate’s primary mission is: ‘Connecting Warfighters with Affordable, Secure & War-Winning Cyber, C3I & Network Systems.’ Brigadier General Michael Schmidt, the Program Executive Officer and Director, maintains a portfolio greater than $12B through the current future year defense program and provides C3I connectivity, network, and infrastructure for Joint, Coalition, Air Force, and Allied country needs across space, air, terrestrial, and cyber domains.

BEAVERCREEK, OH - Applied Research Solutions (ARS), a rapidly growing small business headquartered in Dayton, OH, was awarded a 3 year, $3M contract to Conduct research for Air Force Research Laboratory Sensors Directorate (AFRL/RY) for the Study of Emerging Exploitation Developments (SEED) program. 

On the effort, the ARS team will conduct basic, applied and advanced research that focuses on

sensor data fusion algorithms, synthetic data generation, satellite data manipulation

and management, fusion for data synthesis, target phenomenology characterization, and denied and difficult target prosecution. Studies will include data processing solutions for all environments (including cloud computing, data warehouses, autonomous systems, machine learning, embedded systems, multidomain user interface developments, etc.). ARS research specialists shall address all data sources and types, delivering a blend of phenomenology understanding with an ability to translate the science into production tools that will augment current AFRL efforts in the layered sensing solution environment.

ARS Awarded Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Contract for Ozone Depleting Substances Reserve Program Office

BEAVERCREEK, OH - Applied Research Solutions (ARS), a rapidly growing small business headquartered in Dayton, OH, was awarded a 3 year, $2.6M contract to provide Administrative, Analytical, Information Technology-Related Functions, Logistics & Warehousing and Leak Monitoring Functions for the Ozone Depleting Substances (ODS) Reserve Program Office located in Richmond, VA.

On the effort, the ARS team will ensure that all ODS Reserve Program information, policies, processes and procedures remain current and available to ODS Reserve personnel, DoD and Non-DoD customers through expert maintenance of the existing ODS systems.  ARS also ensures availability of accurate ODS product inventory and transaction information.  ARS delivers key personnel and specialists who perform logistics and warehousing functions, Storage and Handling of Compressed Gasses, and Section 12, Managing the Defense Reserve of Ozone Depleting Substances.  In addition, ARS provides Electronic Monitoring Systems (EMS) tasks for monitoring the various facilities for DLA.

ARS Awarded CROWS Contract

BEAVERCREEK, OH - Applied Research Solutions (ARS), a rapidly growing small business headquartered in Dayton, OH, was awarded a five-year $47M contract to provide Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) support to the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) Cyber Resiliency Office for Weapon Systems (CROWS).

CROWS is a dedicated office responsible for managing the execution of the AF Cyber Campaign Plan (CCP) and evolving cyber security and engineering across Air Force weapon systems. ARS and its major subcontractors, Apogee Engineering (Apogee) and Windmill International (Windmill) will be key advisors to CROWS achieving two mission goals: “Baking-In” cyber resiliency into new weapon systems and mitigating critical vulnerabilities in fielded weapon systems.

Supporting this first-of-its-kind effort by the Air Force, the ARS Team will integrate programmatic and technical cyber efforts across the Air Force like never before. The team’s mission support includes cyber risk analysis, embedding cyber into the systems engineering lifecycle, creating a cyber-savvy workforce, enhancing adaptability and modularity, increasing cyber assurance in fielded systems in a cost effective and efficient manner, and increasing the integration of cyber intelligence across programs.

This team has a unique history of delivering cybersecurity, resiliency engineering, curriculum development and cyber instruction, and other related cyber services across the Air Force including the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT), the US Air Force Academy (USAFA), AFLCMC, Space and Missiles Systems Center (SMC), Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), and the National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC). Leveraging this experience, the ARS Team will increase the cyber resiliency of Air Force weapon systems to secure mission effectiveness under evolving adverse conditions.
